What is coaching

How can a developmental coach help me?

oaching and personal development empower you to meet the YOU that was always there.

I facilitate growth in you through various strategies based on psychology and neuroscience with the goal of helping you understand why you do what it is you do. I am an objective mirror of your life: reflecting your thoughts so that you feel inspired by your actions rather than be burdened by them.

Think about it as you would with driving. You can learn how to shift the gears and step on the breaks, but if you don’t understand the whys and wherefores of what you do, you’re simply copying what was being taught instead of becoming a true driver.

Coaching takes the shades off your eyes so that you drive your life instead of being driven by it

For you to truly appreciate the process, you need to first understand how coaching works. In coaching, you partner with a trained professional who helps you audit your life, assess your goals, help you reach them, and train you to meet new challenges with open arms.

First, I help you discover who you are. This is the most important step in coaching because you cannot step into your best self if you do not know where you are starting from first. This may take several sessions to accomplish, but it is one of the most fulfilling steps in the process as you learn to trust who you are.

I believe in being courageous; so, tell me all your dreams – no matter how far-fetched they may seem at the time! I work with clients who have big goals for themselves: the dreamers, the poets, the lovers, the quirky. I believe that coaching is about crossing that threshold; but first, you have to identify that line.

So, now that you’ve decided where to go, let’s assess where you are now.

Despite its simplicity, many people struggle with this step. This is because you may doubt who you are or what you are capable of. You may have thoughts such as “I am not good enough” or “I cannot do this”.

Together, we create a space where you can claim your independence. You are held accountable for your thoughts and are encouraged to step into your agency. This is where developmental coaching shines: you meet the YOU that was always there so that you have a better relationship with the external world.

I am not a management style that tells you what to do or how to do it. This never works. If you always find strength in another person, you never learn how to depend on yourself.

Once you meet yourself, you will find yourself open and ready for any new challenges that happen along the way. From this awareness of self, you are empowered to become the powerful, vibrant, authentic you that is ready for the technicolor shades of life.

And it’s perfectly okay if you make mistakes along the way; everyone does. Regardless of what happens, we empower you to take the first step. This first step leads to another step until eventually, you’ve taken 10,000 steps toward your dreams!
